         Review of Geological Terms, Concepts & Principles

         Stratigraphy, Geological processes and materials 9%

         Engineering Properties of Geomaterials 10%

         Seepage, Head & Effective Stress

         Strength of Soils and Slopes in Soils 13%

         Structural Geology Maps and Cross-sections 10%

         Glaciation, landforms and properties of glacial deposits

         Glacial Stratigraphy of Saskatchewan

         Remote Sensing, Airphotos, landforms and terrain analysis 25%

         Site Investigation, Sampling and Instrumentation 13%

         Engineering Geophysics 10%

         Properties of rocks / Slopes, cuts and excavations in Rock 10%

The lessons and important PRINCIPLES from the case studies will be incorporated into the above sections

 

Final Exam (format)

         Short answers, multiple choice, some problems

         Bring calculator, scale (ruler), protractor, compass, stereoscope, scissors, marker (for marking on airphotos), stapler

        Bring one double sided page of notes

         2 parts will be stapled separately

         Airphotos should be sized correctly to see without cutting out (bring scissors in case)

         If needed, cut RHS photo out, leaving LHS photo in place to mark on.

 

$20 WILL BE REFUNDED WHEN YOU RETURN THE STERESCOPE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE EXAM. MARKS WILL NOT BE ENTERED FOR STUDENTS UNTIL THE STEREOSCOPE IS RETURNED.
