Welcome to the Thermal Power Plant Micro Module. This module supplements lecture material covered in ME 227.3 Thermodynamics I. It will assist in understanding the basic processes and components in a thermal power plant.

The two main parts of the micro module are cycle descriptions and a Rankine cycle calculator.

The cycle descriptions explain, in increasing complexity, the components of the Rankine cycle.

The Rankine cycle calculator allows the user to vary several operating parameters and observe the effect on power output and cycle efficiency.
