Computer and Computer Peripheral Supplier Recommendations

The ECC''s primary computer and peripheral vendor is the Campus Computer Store (CCS). The ECC recommends that faculty and staff, who are interested in making a computer purchase, contact a CCS sales representative. The CCS representative can provide assistance in specifying a computer to meet the needs of the user.

The Engineering Computer Centre, in conjunction with the CCS, has produced an equipment purchase recommendation web page for the college. The recommendation page allows Engineering faculty and staff to view available equipment and pricing options for a few standardized desktop models. The recommended equipment has been provided at a substantial discount. There are, however a few restrictions to keep in mind when purchasng these models. It is also designed to fit with the ECC''s support model.

Campus Computer Store

The CCS can provide campus clients with the following benefits:

  • They have a retail outlet on campus which provides exceptional access to product demos and to sales and support staff.
  • In conjunction with TSS, the CSS is a warranty approved repair depot for many of their hardware lines.
  • They offer a computer setup and configuration service for computers to be used on campus.
  • They also provide software solutions and they keep on top of software available to customers by campus site licenses.
  • All sales staff are salaried campus employees. They do not get a commission. Their primary motivation is to assist you, not to make a sale.
  • They provide direct billing of university accounts.
  • They provide support of campus budgeting processes like Capital Equipment Quotes.
  • Most lines they sell have warranties which can be upgraded to a period of 3 years and to same day service.
